    'ESHLEMAN, DAVID, the second son of Samuel and Nancy (Bechtel) Eshleman, was born near Blair, November 24th, 1822. On March 19th, 1844, he was married to Esther, daughter of Isaac and Esther (Bechtel) Shantz. She was born January 7th, 1823, and died September 16th, 1883. They resided in Wilmot Township where he was engaged in farming for many years. When quite a young man he was ordained as deacon of the Mennonite body.'
