"Daniel² Gates … married Rebecca³ Dutton, …daughter of Joseph² (Thomas¹) Dutton and his wife, Rebecca Merriam."
Even though they were not included in the Hale Collection, it is not impossible that Daniel and Rebecca were buried at the Old Cove Burying Ground. However, since he was deacon of the church at Millington, burial in that part of the Town of East Haddam seems more likely.
