Source:Eddy, Charles. Genealogy of the Eddy Family, p. 15, says "Benjamin Eddy, s/o Obadiah Eddy and --- Bennett, b. 1673, m. Abigail Hathaway.". It is not clear how credible this source is as it makes several errors (notably adding a daughter Sarah to this family who appears to be the daughter of Benjamin's brother Joel and confusing Benjamin's brother Joel with his son Joel), but Source:Wakefield, Robert S. Peter Brown of the Mayflower and His Descendants for Four Generations, p. 46, says that Elisha Hayward m. 1747 "Abigail (Hathaway) Eddy, widow of Benjamin Eddy", leaning credence.

This source does not give a marriage date. This would indicate it was unaware of the Scituate marriage record cited on this page, whose 1716 date agrees very well with the commencement of Benjamin's children in 1717. The identification of Abigail as Abigail Hathaway appears to be a mistake.
