Adam Bennett and Hannah Bennett: Family History

Adam Bennett was the plantation overseer at Magnolia Platation both prior to, and after Emancipation. His descendants continued to live and work at Magnolia well into the twentieth century. On the 1880 Census for St. Andrews Parish, Charleston, South Carolina, Adam gives his occupation as phosphate laborer. The household consisted of:
